Things Your Mother Told You Not To Do

So, around here, we are feeling our wild oats. The weather has us thinking Spring and the attitudes are purely Wild West. We don't like to sleep, eat our vegetables or play with approved toys for our age. Check out the by-products...

Rebecca is a preschooler with lots of great ideas... And some not so great ones. Remember when your mommy told you not to press your face up against the glass and you thought it was because she had to clean it again? Well, it was really because you looked like this! :) I fully plan on showing this picture to her future fiancee...

Mommy is also feeling a little wild. Due to a recent creativity spurt, she has taken on many art projects. Unfortunately that means that the house cleaning is suffering. But the preliminary result are in and the product is cute and as Eric describes them only "Semi-homemade." thanks! Watch out, these may be coming soon to baby feet near you!!

And as though we needed it, thanks to the generousity of Granny and Grandpa, we now have a double jogging stroller! We are out every day, sometimes twice per day in this glorious weather walking all over the place. The kids do great and stay toasty even when it's not 60 degrees outside! This was my birthday present this year... And although it's not until April, I got an advance, which will certainly be used!!! THANKS Mom and Dad!!!
And as for sweet baby Patrick- his whole life is just one big adventure. He is talking more and more... Saying heart melting things like "Mom." Yes, "Mom" not "momma" or "mommy" but "mom." He also says "Done" and "I'm-done" "dad" "Ba" (for Rebecca) and "NO!" Amongst other things... But those are the cute ones... I love this picture of his curls. I know I will have to cut them one day, but for now, I'm lovin' it!

Our baby boy also loves to share- particularily food- so watch out if you're around- he might offer you a soggy, recycled bite!

Grandpa Visit

We were lucky enough to have Grandpa and Maggie for the last week.

He attacked several birds with the same stone.....

1) Ensure Patrick is being raised a proper man learning to...

Smash beer cans on his head

Cheer for a touchdown for the "team!" This was on Super Bowl Sunday. Patrick didn't know who was playing so he wore his "team" shirt. Similiar to John Belushi and "college." Generic is always best- look at the popularity of Walmart.

2) Be sure that Rebecca gets to do all the fun things a preschooler should....

Catching snowflakes with her tongue

3) Sell the Casita....

Kiss it Goodbye Grandpa!

One last repose.....

4) and spoil us all rotten- taking us out to eat everywhere we like and helping out around the house!

Thanks for coming Dad! We look forward to next time- maybe we'll let you bring Mom! :)

TAG- I'm it!

So Marta tagged me at least 2 weeks ago, and I've been waiting for the opportune time to pass on the favor...

For those who are new to the game... Here are the rules...

1) Link to the person that tagged you.
2) Post the rules on your blog.
3) Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself.
4) Tag six people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs.
5) Let them know they've been tagged as well.

And as for six non-important things about myself....
1) I love diet coke. Not diet pepsi. Not sams club cola. Not any other variety. Simply diet coke. In fact, it will probably kill me. I am allowed 2 per day and I'm drinking one right now! :)
2) I love to craft. LOVE IT!! Sometimes it turns out homemade, sometimes it turns out exceptional. Wish I had more time for it! :)
3) I love politics. All forms of politics and political debate. In fact, all forms of religion and religious debate as well. I have my views but love to engage anyone and be the devil's advocate.
4) (Running out of tidbits here...) Morning person. With the baby have become a round the clock person. Looking forward to re-becoming a morning person.
5) Weight lifter- not a jogger. In fact, despise all cardio that does not involve my kids and being outside or dancing.
6) Love all my jobs- mom, wife, friend and paid ones too! Am truely happy most all the time... Except when I don't get #1 above or when #3 doesn't go my way! :)

So that's it for me- I'm sure you are leaving this narcisstic blog a much more enlightened person.

In return, I am tagging Jason, Melissa, Kirsten and Carey. Why? Because I can! Happy blogging folks!

The catch up edition

So, things have been busy 'round here! I am going to make a serious effort to start blogging more than every major holiday (Christmas and Valentines)...

One of the biggest events was Patrick's first haircut. It's been hard for him to see lately, and I think he seems much happier... I got the haircut inspiration from Pottery Barn kids, and according to daddy it's not quite conservative enough...

Rebecca continues to be our dancing queen! Her dad the podiatrist is horrified, but she can walk around the house en pointe... Quite a site to behold. She has been known to show total strangers at the grocery store what she can do!

Update

So sometimes I find the longer I put something off, the harder it is to get back on the horse. So I am blogging a brief update. AND DANG IT!!! NOw the baby is awake and the blog is put off another day....
