Purple People Eater

Well, she may not be a partner for Baryshnikov, but she is our little dancer! Rebecca has been taking a ballet/tap combo class once a week through her preschool. It is a great chance for the girls to make great friends and polish up their motor skills. Rebecca loves it!

The recital was this last Friday. It was great! The girls were part of a company of over 100 dancers all with rows and rows of family in the 3 level civic center. They looked adorable and did amazing dancing. See for yourself! Our little star said afterwards that it was "a lot harder than she thought but it was total worth it for all the applause." A prima donna is born- or revealed. You be the judge- nature vs. nurture!

Motivated to blog

So, I've been playing my life away- and not on the computer. Well, ok, maybe a little internet shopping here and there... Ever been to Steep and Cheap? Or mamabargains? Addictive I tell you. I keep hitting refresh, refresh, refresh. Which is maybe what you do on my blog- unfortunately for you the results are not as rewarding.

So what has the Riley clan been up to? Camping. Lots of it. Visiting with Granny and Grandpa and becoming trailer trash. We've been in the midst of 14 14ers.

We've hiked, biked, and swam in naturally occuring hot springs. The two trailer pix are of our campsites, one from an aerial view when Eric and I were orienteering on a well marked hike that we lost.

We've encoutered wildlife that belongs only in zoos. In fact, this little buddy was less than two feet away from me and the kids as we played... YIKES!

We've had friends come to visit- Ali if you're reading this- it was great and can't wait to see you on the other side!

We have gone for bike rides, swam, played at the playground. Battled childhood viruses and won. Trained our rascally puppy (Appropriate names for this dog would have been Rascal, Bandit, Demon... Max is way too insipid for him). But he has graduated from puppy school and is doing rather well. Many have encouraged us to do agility training with him (hyper mom + hyper dog = winning combo). But instead I've decided to have him certified to someday (maybe) be a therapy dog.

So hope you're flying high wherever you are! And we are totally looking for a reason to travel again. Come visit and let's explore! I'm out.

Click on this last pic! The little ants in the upper right are our family- Dad waded to the middle of the creek to take this pix- we haven't seen him since but he's probably downstream somewhere. If he floats by you, please fish him out!
