Jumping for Joy

Although you will certainly get a neck cramp from watching this video, I love it!!! One of the new fun tmes at our house is jumping for joy. In general, Patrick thinks his sister is hilarious. And she returns the adoration unless he slobbers on her, then he is DISGUSTING!

We have been so busy lately that I can't even tell you what we were doing, but I did manage to take a few pictures of the kids for your viewing pleasure. I don't know if you can tell from this pix but Patrick is almost as big as Rebecca.

We are certainly not perfect, as you can see! Patrick has a fancy trick of getting food everywhere- even under the bib as this picture shows! Rebecca is so good at following directions that when mom says go stand by that plant to take your picture, she stands in the plant!

Rebecca has a new pretend baby called "Sweetie Pie." Sweetie Pie joined our family on Sunday and continues to be with us. She is very slow in crowds, always holds her mommy's hand and likes to snuggle. This after we thought she had a pretend friend named Gummy at school. Yeah, turns out Gummy is real. From all signs, Sweetie Pie is pretend.

Patrick is very close to creeping. Or not depending on the day. He already crawls when it suits him (pulling himself on the floor like an army guy). He can move himself into sitting but doesn't like to stay there long. He still likes to scream loudly to amuse himself and loves to be snuggled. We have already had to start babyproofing. Rebecca thinks that putting her little things in plastic bags will keep Patrick out since he can't open plastic bags. Well, it's a certain kind of 3 year old logic...

And mommy and daddy are getting a new dishwasher- a black one. Ours was recalled for starting fires. That's a problem we don't need when we have kids this cute!
Have a happy week!

Moving Right Along

Kermit: "Movin' right along in search of good times and good news,With good friends, you can't lose" Fozzie:"This could become a habit..." Moving Right Along, The Muppet Movie

So I almost quoted you the whole dang song... As my family knows the Muppet Movie is one of my favorites, especially the soundtrack. If you need me to I can sing you most any song from that movie a cappella. Seriously, call me up. I can give you an ear full! :) And if you haven't seen it- rent it NOW! I'm not sure it's on DVD but brush the dust off the VHS and watch it. You won't regret it!

But my little buddy Patrick is moving right along. The more he moves the more Rebecca feels her little territory is challenged. She's happy now and excited... A few days ago he pulled himself over and up on her couch and these are the pix...
No surface is safe, so watch yourself!!! :) He has been known to steal food out of other's mouths, lift full gallons of milk in a single tug, grab his sister's fork on the way to her mouth and wake up at 3:30am just to say he beat the birds!
Check back soon, but for right now I've got to be movin' right along duhdahdum duhdahdum...

Parents

“To understand your parents' love you must raise children yourself.” Chinese Proverb

For those of you who didn't already know, my mother is on the path to sainthood.

Instead of spending her precious vacation days languishing by a blue lagoon, hiking and communing with nature, she waded through the filth and grime that is our daily life. She was christened by baby puke (not just once mind you, three times), helped clean dirty tushes and did her share of the perpetual laundry and cleaning while she was here. It cuold be said she enjoyed her visit so much, she took something home with her. That something was the flu virus! Feel better soon mom!

That being said, we don't have any good pictures of her visit. It seems that both sets of her children take lots of pictures of dear old dad with the munchkins but leave out mom. I hearby declare the rest of 2007 and the whole of 2008 to taking pictures of my mother. Watch out mom- here comes the camera your way! :)

Seriously, one of the greatest highlights of their visit (and obviously the most photographed) was celebrating Dad's birthday...

Instead of making birthday cake (a Watts family staple) we made Dad's favorite Grandma Watts recipe, chocolate eclairs. Rebecca ate hers and proceeded to steal grandpas and then share the rest with Maggie!

And although she claims only to like fruits and veggies, Granny may have found a dessert she actually likes!

Rebecca and Granny swam in the pool... Although from the looks of it, they cooked in the pool. It has been in the hundreds here pretty routinely... Which is HOT!

Since they've gone, Rebecca has lost her tea party buddies so she tries to recreate with Patrick. She makes him tea and toast. Sometimes with peanut butter. He's a lucky guy!

And Patrick, like all good babies, showers us with his smiles and cuteness. Here he models the latest in baby attire- the post-bath robe!

We love and miss all of you!
